It is a very important task to ensure water quality in parrot fish farming. In order to keep the water quality suitable, regular water change is needed. First of all, we need to pay attention to the frequency of water exchange. It can not change water for a long time, nor can it change water too frequently. Generally speaking, it can be replaced every 4 days or so. However, if the temperature is relatively low in winter, the interval of water change can be slightly longer, about once a week.
When changing water, first of all, choose the right water. Some farmers will choose river or lake water, but they need to pay attention to removing impurities before using it. Most farmers will choose tap water. However, because it contains harmful substances to the health of parrot fish, it can not be used directly, it is best to expose to the sun for three days, the harmful substances will evaporate, and then can be used.
After sunning, you can start changing the water. The amount of water change needs to be strictly controlled, each time the water can not be too much, generally about one third or one quarter. Moreover, to control the water temperature, can not occur very dramatic changes, the range of water temperature changes as far as possible not more than 2 degrees. Therefore, in order to keep the water temperature from changing too much, the flow rate of water can be as slow as possible. After changing the water, you can observe whether the parrot fish adapt.
