The stone golden turtle is a water turtle. It eats, rests and moves in the water. Except for basking in the sun and breeding, it generally does not climb to the land, so it belongs to the standard water turtle. Although the turtle can move and feed on land, it is difficult for it to swallow on land, so it is best for the breeder to feed it in water. Although they are water turtles, they also need to bask in the sun regularly. Breeders need to build a balcony for them in the container, which can not only facilitate them to play and bask in the sun, but also make them climb to the water to breathe faster.
2. How high is the water level of the stone golden turtleAlthough the stone golden turtle is a water turtle, it cannot live in deep water, and breeders need to decide the water level according to their body shape. In infancy, the water level of stone golden turtle can be consistent with the height of carapace. As they grow in size, breeders also need to raise the water level. When they reach adulthood, their swimming ability and physical strength will improve, and the height of water level can be 1-2 times that of carapace. If the breeder builds a balcony for them, the height of the water level can be raised relatively, but the maximum should not exceed 3 times the height of the carapace.
