Normally, the wild stone golden turtle takes longer to develop into adulthood, which takes about 8-9 years. Because the stone golden turtle living in the wild lacks food, it will take longer to grow and develop. It takes 6-8 years for the cultured stone golden turtle to mature. Because the captive turtle has plenty of food and the environment is relatively stable, its growth and development will be faster.

Most stone golden turtles start breeding from April to October every year. During breeding, male turtles will climb on the back of female turtles. If female turtles agree to mate, they will start mating. When mating, breeders need to keep the temperature at about 25 ℃. After successful mating, wait for a period of time and lay eggs. Stone golden turtle will look for a wet sandy land, dig a pit in the ground, and then lay eggs in the pit. After giving birth, they will bury them in soil and then leave.

After they lay eggs, the breeder takes them out and puts them into the incubator to hatch. The temperature and humidity in the incubator should be kept in a stable range. After waiting for a period of time, they can hatch successfully.
