There are many kinds of ornamental snails, some eat aquatic plants, while others don't. Usually, if ornamental snails are raised in grass tanks, it is generally not recommended to raise mysterious snails, Malay snails, Sulawesi snails, etc., but apple snails, zebra snails, onion snails and military cap snails. It is worth mentioning that some of the above snails are soda snails, which can only reproduce in waters with a certain salinity, so there is no need to worry about cylinder explosion when raised.
2. What ornamental snails are better to raise1. Zebra snail: Zebra snail is a common ornamental snail, also called watermelon snail. It is suitable for living in hard water. If the water quality is too soft, it will often lead to shell dissolution, which will gradually disappear its pattern and reduce its ornamental value. This snail has strong vitality, strong adaptability in fresh water, and likes to eat algae, which is very suitable for raising in grass tanks.
2. Onion snails: Onion snails are rare in species, spherical in shape, thin in shell and easy to break. It does not require high water quality, but like zebra snails, it will dissolve its shell when raised in soft water. Usually, the feeding water temperature should be kept between 22-24 ℃, and the food is mostly algae, so it is very suitable to put it in a grass jar.
3. Military cap snail: Military cap snail is also called black diamond snail, and its shell is black and looks like a military cap. Its own temperament is mild, easy to raise, and it eats green algae. Because of its strong algae removal ability, it is also widely raised. However, it should be noted that although it does not eat aquatic plants, it has the habit of turning mud.
