The water level of crocodile turtles is different at different stages. Whether they can be raised in deep water depends on their body shape and growth stage. If crocodile turtles are just born, they can't be raised in deep water, because they have poor adaptability to the environment, physical strength and swimming ability. If they are raised in deep water, it is difficult for them to swim up normally for air. At this stage, it is best for breeders to control the height of water level to 2 cm of the height of their carapace, so that they can breathe fresh air when they raise their heads.

If it is an adult crocodile turtle, it can be raised in deeper water. Because deep water can make their carapace develop better, but the water level should not be too deep, and it is most appropriate to control it at 2-3 times the height of carapace.

Crocodile turtles can't be raised in cold water. Their origin is tropical areas, and their favorite water temperature is 22-30 ℃. If they are raised in cold water, it will affect their growth and development speed, and will also reduce their resistance and immunity, and they are prone to illness. If the water temperature is lower than 20 ℃, If the water temperature is lower than 15 ℃, they will go into hibernation.

In the process of breeding, the breeder needs to keep the water temperature between 22-30 ℃. If conditions permit, the water temperature can be kept between 25 ℃, and it is best to use a heating rod for constant temperature.
