Domestic crocodile turtles do not grow too big because the breeding space will limit their development. Under normal circumstances, the length of captive crocodile turtles in adulthood is about 40-70 cm. Their body shape is influenced by space and feeding methods. If they have a large space for activities and sufficient food and nutrition, they will develop well, and their body length can reach 60-70 cm. Some people with good physique can grow to more than 70 cm. If the space for raising them is small and the environment is poor, it will deteriorate the physique of crocodile turtles and affect their growth and development, so they can only grow to about 40 cm, and some crocodile turtles that often get sick may grow less than 40 cm.
2. How long can the crocodile turtle reproduceIt takes 4-5 years for the normal crocodile turtle to mature. If they are raised indoors at a constant temperature and their hibernation time is reduced or they do not go into hibernation directly, they only need 2-3 years to mature. In order to make them mature quickly, breeders need to provide them with enough food in addition to ensuring comfortable environment, so that they can develop better. It is best not to reproduce in the first year after the crocodile turtle matures, because they are just mature, and direct reproduction may affect the quantity and quality of reproduction.
