Exopalaemon modestus is a kind of small and medium-sized shrimp, the body length of adult is between 3-5 cm, and some individuals can grow to nearly 6 cm in suitable environment. Their bodies are white and transparent, with high ornamental, and relatively mild temperament, in the environment of adequate food will not easily attack other healthy fish and shrimp, so it is more suitable for ornamental shrimp breeding.
The life span of the beautiful white shrimp is related to the culture environment. In normal farming, they can live for 1-3 years. But if the breeding environment is very poor, they will not be able to survive normally, and their life span will be shortened accordingly. They are relatively easy to breed, in the natural environment, April to August can be a large number of breeding. In artificial breeding, as long as the water temperature is suitable, adult individuals may reproduce.
The growth speed of the beautiful white shrimp is relatively fast. The young shrimp born in April of the same year can grow to a length of 3-3.5cm around August. Their reproductive ability is very strong, and individuals weighing about 2g can hatch eggs and reproduce. However, the number of shrimp eggs born in that year is relatively small, only about 100 eggs each time. The number of fully developed old shrimps can reach about 300 eggs per time.
