The river snail and the golden apple snail are not a kind of snail. They are very different. The specific manifestations are as follows:
1. Antennas: The antennae of the Golden Apple Snail are relatively long and thin, while those of the River Snail are relatively thick and short. There are two pairs of antennae in the appearance of Pomacea canaliculata, but only one pair of antennae in the field snail.
2. Trachea: The ventilation tube of Cipangopaludina is not obvious, mainly relying on the nearby air bag. But the snail's ventilation tube is obvious, and they often extend the ventilation tube. This is the obvious difference between them.
3. Food: Snails like to eat aquatic algae and some food residues, and eat relatively mild. Pomacea canaliculata likes to eat more things, it eats everything it can eat, water plants, fish and shrimp carcasses, and even carrion. And they eat more ferocious, eat faster.
4. Parasites: Pomacea canaliculata is a snail carrying parasites, which needs special attention in breeding.
5. Hardness: The shell of the apple snail is very brittle, but the shell of the river snail is hard and not fragile.
6. Size: Pomacea canaliculata is relatively large compared with field snails. Field snails are generally about 1.5 cm, while Pomacea canaliculata is generally four or five cm.
It is best not to put Pomacea canaliculata and river snails together, because Pomacea is the host of parasites. Put it together with snails, it is easy to make snails produce parasites, affecting the health of snails. And the apple snail likes to eat everything it can eat, which may also pose a threat to the snail.
