The mandrake is a kind of ornamental fish that is easy to feed. It is relatively solid and has certain environmental adaptability. It does not require particularly stringent water temperature, water quality, feed and oxygen concentration in water. It has an auxiliary respiratory organ, which can breathe oxygen on the surface when the dissolved oxygen in the water is insufficient, so it generally does not need an oxygen pump when monoculture. It is an omnivorous fish, not picky eaters, so the preparation of feed is relatively easy.
1. Water temperature: The mandrake is a tropical fish, suitable for growing in water with a temperature of 22-28 ℃. If the water temperature is lower than 18 C when raising it, it will grow poorly, appear resistance decline, easy to get sick. If the weather is cold in winter, it is recommended to install heating rods in the fish tank to avoid freezing the fish.
2. Water quality: It does not have a very high requirement for water quality. It can be farmed with tap water that has been aired in the sun. However, water needs to be changed regularly to ensure water quality. Every time you change the water, you don't have to change all the water, usually about one third. Changing only part of the water can prevent the water temperature from changing greatly and make the fish sick.
3. Feeding: The mandrakes are not picky eaters, and can be fed with general dry fish food or live bait such as red worms and nematodes. It can also eat the minced meat of fish and shrimp, and even small fish that have just died. When breeding, it is recommended to feed once every 1-2 days, not frequently, otherwise it will eat too much and have growth problems.
