Whales are vertebrate subphylum, class mammals. There are different species of whales, which can be roughly divided into two categories, one is baleen whale, the other is toothed whale. There are nearly 100 species of whales, most of which live in the sea, but there are also some living in fresh water, but the number of species is relatively small. In the sea area of our country, there are probably more than 30 kinds of whales. These different species of whales are quite different, their appearance and size are very different. At present, the sea where whales live may be polluted, coupled with human hunting activities, resulting in a gradual decline in the number of whales, some species of whales have been very small.
There are many species of whales, nearly 100 species, but the specific number of each species is different. Some varieties are more common, while others are not common because of their small number. The following whales are common species:
1. Orca: Orca is a toothed whale, and it is a large toothed whale. Their character is very fierce, and they are at the top of the marine food chain. Killer whales living in the ocean will even take big sharks as their food, which shows their ferocity.
2. Sperm whale: The sperm whale is also a very large whale. Their intestinal secretions are called "ambergris" after drying, and their medicinal value is relatively high. The distribution of sperm whales is relatively wide, and they are basically distributed in the non-freezing sea area.
3. The blue whale: The blue whale is the largest of the whales and the largest mammal.
4. Melon-headed whales: They are named for the shape of their heads. They are actually distributed in tropical and subtropical deep waters all over the country, and also in China.
