Unlike most turtles, razor turtles can hibernate or not hibernate. If you want to know whether they will hibernate, it depends on the temperature of their living environment. If the temperature around them is above 20 ℃, which is suitable for them to live in, then they will not hibernate, so they only need to be raised normally. They are temperature-changing animals. If the temperature in their surroundings is lower than 15 ℃, they will slowly enter hibernation.
If you want them to hibernate, the breeder needs to control the water temperature at about 15 ℃, but not below this temperature. If the temperature is too low, it will do harm to their bodies. If they don't want to go into hibernation, the breeder can control the temperature at 22-27 ℃.
2. What should we pay attention to when razor turtles hibernateIf razor turtles enter hibernation well, we should pay attention to many problems:
1. Feed high-calorie food: First of all, pay attention before hibernation. Breeders need to feed them a lot of high-calorie food so that they can reserve enough energy for winter.
2. Shallow water feeding: During hibernation, attention should be paid to keeping them in shallow water and not feeding them. When they are hibernating, their metabolism will decline and they will not move. Be careful not to feed them immediately after they hibernate, and then feed them after they adapt.
