1. Cause: The Brazilian tortoise does not eat and does not open its eyes. It may be suffering from white eye disease. The main cause of white eye disease is poor water quality or alkaline water quality. The disease usually occurs in young tortoises, when the Brazilian tortoise will rub its eyes with its paws, and white secretions will appear in the eyes.
2. Treatment: If the condition is not serious, 1 ppm potassium permanganate solution can be used for medicated bath, once a day, 30 minutes each time, and 5 days of continuous medicated bath can be recovered. If the symptoms are serious, the white secretions and epidermis around the eyes need to be cleaned first, and then the Brazilian tortoise is soaked in oxytetracycline solution, the proportion can be 1 gram of oxytetracycline per kilogram of water, and then the water is changed every 24 hours.
