Zebra snails are mainly plankton, especially algae. As long as there are algae in the grass tank, there is food for the zebra snail. The algae in the fish tank may not be visible to the naked eye, but as long as the light is sufficient and reasonable, and the nutrients in the tank are abundant, algae will be produced.
However, it is inevitable that insufficient light, insufficient nutrition or too many snails will lead to insufficient algae consumption. At this time, two situations need to be dealt with differently.
< H3 > 1. Ornamental fish and shrimp are kept in the tankAt this time, it is not necessary to take special care of the zebra snail. Most of the ornamental snails are omnivorous and can share with fish and shrimp food. The algae and food residues on the tank wall can fully meet the needs of the zebra snail.
< H3 > 2. Ornamental fish and shrimp are not kept in the tankAt this time, the zebra snail has no food, so the zebra snail needs to be specially fed. There are the following two methods:
(1) You can put some self-made snail food in the jar, such as cooked spinach, radish, cucumber, etc.
(2) Shrimp and snail grain is also sold on the market, and buying ready-made and prepared shrimp and snail grain is also a nutritious and simple method.
In most cases, zebra snails do not need to be specially fed, but mainly eat algae and rotten branches and leaves of aquatic plants in the tank. But when there are no other organisms in the tank, there is not enough algae and there is no food residue, special feeding of zebra snails is needed. The normal frequency should be 1 ~ 2 days to feed once, feeding process need to pay attention to observe the situation in the cylinder, grasp the principle of appropriate amount. Feeding can be postponed if there is food in the tank.
