Generally speaking, Koi can breed once a year. From April to June, it is likely to breed. However, the water temperature must be in the right range before it can reproduce naturally.
1. Selection of parent fish: In order to make the breeding successful, the first step is to select the appropriate parent fish. First of all, the brood fish should be strong. Moreover, from the appearance point of view, the scales need to be complete, and the characteristics of the species need to be distinct. Furthermore, the ratio of female fish to male fish can be controlled at 1:3.
2. Spawning pond: If it is not yet the breeding season, the female fish and the male fish can be cultured separately. After the breeding season, they can be put into the spawning pool, each pool into two or three groups. When ready, wait for them to inseminate naturally. And then wait for the female to spawn. If the male koi has been chasing the female koi, and the female koi has been shaking the tail, then they are about to lay eggs. Fish nests should be prepared in advance so that fertilized eggs can attach themselves to them after spawning.
3. Hatching pond: After the female fish finishes spawning, in order to prevent the female fish from eating the eggs, it is necessary to take out the fish nest in time. After disinfection, it is necessary to keep the water temperature at about 25 degrees. After about three days, the small fish can hatch out.
4. Feeding: After hatching, do not feed the small fish. After 3-4 days, you can feed the right amount of food.
