Generally speaking, female and male fish will not fight when they are raised together. But the Thai fighting fish is special. Its aggressiveness is not only reflected in the male fish, but also in the female fish. Even Thai fighting fish of different sexes will fight when put together. Especially when they are different in size, they also lead to the weak party becoming the target of attack. When they enter the breeding season, the fighting between female and male fish will be reduced. Because they are very strict with their spouses, they will fight if one of them is not qualified. Only a successful match of a male and a female will not appear fighting phenomenon. Once the breeding season is over, they must be isolated or they will fight.
Thailand betta is usually suitable for separate breeding. If they enter the breeding season and need to mate, they can put one male and one female into the same tank. Pay attention to the size of the two can not be too much difference, otherwise the larger side will attack the smaller side. If they mate successfully, the female fish will be fished out after she has laid her eggs. Otherwise, when fighting occurs, it will affect the male fish's spawning. Therefore, it is better not to breed them together except during the breeding period.
