There are many reasons for anoxia, such as poor water quality, high feeding density, etc. Breeders need to immediately oxygenate and ensure adequate oxygen.
How does koi float on the surface of the water? How to treat it?

1. Malachite green medicinal bath

1. Reason: Koi fish have been floating on the surface of the water, which may be infected with bacteria, because the gills infected with bacteria will cause them to breathe unsmoothly, so they will surface to breathe. The more common bacterial infection is gill rot, which is mainly caused by poor water quality.

2. Treatment: If the gill rot disease is not serious, the breeder only needs to use 10 grams of salt and 5 grams of baking soda dissolved in 10 kilograms of water to clean or medicate the koi once a day, 15-20 minutes each time, and the koi can recover in a week. If the gill rot disease is serious, the breeder needs to give them a medicated bath with malachite green, which can dissolve 0.7 grams of malachite green in 10 kilograms of water, soak the body of the sick fish for 15-30 minutes, and persist for a week, it can be cured.

2. Immediate oxygenation

1. Causes: There are many causes of hypoxia in Koi, such as poor water quality, low air pressure, high feeding density, etc. Koi fish will float on the surface of the water and breathe fresh air when they are deprived of oxygen.

2. Treatment: Breeders need to turn on the oxygen pump immediately, or change a small amount of water to increase the dissolved oxygen in the water. After the fish have recovered, it is necessary to reduce the feeding density to avoid the occurrence of hypoxia again. When the temperature is high, the oxygen pump can be turned on for 24 hours.
