Poor water quality: Pig-nosed turtles do not eat or move, which may be caused by poor water quality, and breeders need to change water for them in time. | | Low water temperature: Too low water temperature can also lead to decreased appetite and activity of pig-nosed turtles. The breeder needs to raise the water temperature to 26-31 ℃. | | Enteritis: Pig-nosed turtles do not eat or swim, most likely suffering from enteritis, breeders need to give them intestinal synthesis or oxytetracycline to treat.
Pig-nosed turtle doesn't eat or swim. What's going on? How to solve it?

1. Poor

water quality 1. Reason: Pig-nosed turtles have higher requirements for water quality. If the water quality is too poor, it is easy to breed bacteria, and it will also affect their activities and appetite.

2. Solution: The breeder needs to change the water in time, and ensure that the water quality is weakly acidic, and the PH value is controlled at 8. In the later period of feeding, it is better to change water twice a week, and the amount of water changed each time is one sixth of the total amount of water. If conditions permit, a circulating filtration system can be installed.

2. Low

water temperature 1. Reason: Pig-nosed turtles are suitable for living in water at 26-31 ℃. If the water temperature is too low, their activity will be reduced and their appetite will be reduced.

2. Solution: The breeder needs to raise the water temperature to 26-31 ℃. If the water temperature is too low, a heating rod can be installed in the container. However, the temperature should not be raised quickly, and the temperature should be raised slowly to 26 ℃. When the temperature rises to 26 C, they can be fed some bananas, tomatoes or other interesting foods.

3. Enteritis

1. Cause: After suffering from enteritis, pig-nosed turtles will also stop eating and do not like to swim. Enteritis is mainly caused by improper or unclean feeding.

2. Solution: Breeders need to stop feeding and then feed some enterosynthetic or oxytetracycline. If you can't feed it, you can use oxytetracycline bath, and stop feeding during the bath.
