1. Look at the body shape: When the nut-core turtle is still relatively young, that is, when it is in the turtle seedling stage, it is generally impossible to distinguish between the male and female. When they are older, especially in the adult stage, they can be distinguished by their size. In general, for the same age of the stone turtle, the big size is the female turtle, the small size is the male turtle.
2. Look at the tail: It can also be distinguished by their tail. You can see the thickness of the tail, the base of the tail is thick female tortoise, the base of the tail is thinner male tortoise; You can also see the length of the tail, the longer tail is the male turtle, the shorter is the female turtle.
3. Look at the color of the back shell: In addition, there will be some differences in the color of the back shell between the male and female turtles. It may not be obvious at first, but it will be easier to observe after they grow up. Generally speaking, the male turtle's back shell color will be slightly darker, and the female turtle's back shell color will be lighter.
4. Look at the belly: You can observe their belly. If there is a concave part above, it is a male turtle; On the contrary, it is a female turtle.
The male and female of the nut-pit turtle can be raised together. Generally speaking, there will be no conflict. They can be raised together when they are relatively young, so that they are easier to get familiar with each other and less likely to fight. However, there are two problems that need to be paid attention to when mixing. The first is the size of the container. Although the size of the tortoise itself is not large, the number of breeding more than one also needs to consider whether there is enough space. Another is feeding, they need to distribute food reasonably, and prepare enough food to avoid the phenomenon of food grabbing.
