The grass tank can not raise turtles. Tortoises are omnivorous animals, even if they prefer meat, they sometimes eat grass, so raising them in grass tanks will cause some damage to aquatic plants. Even if they do not eat grass, they will dig sand and turn soil, and water plants are not good, so they generally do not use grass tanks to raise.
1. Prepare a basin jar: If you raise turtles at home for viewing, you usually choose a basin jar to raise them. In the jar, you should put rockery stones, and the top should be a little higher than the water surface. The water in the tank is mostly dried tap water, or river water or clean water, which is about 10 centimeters deep at first, and then added to 20 centimeters, which can put a little water grass.
2. How to feed: Newborn young tortoises do not need to be fed for two days. After that, they can be fed with red worms, silk earthworms or cooked egg yolks. After another week, they can be fed with fish, shrimp or snails and mussels. The feed must be cut into pieces before feeding. Moreover, it is necessary to choose food that is easy to digest and cannot be spoiled. The total amount of feeding per day is between 5-10% of its total amount.
3. Prevention and treatment of diseases: Generally, turtles are not easy to get sick when they grow up, but in the young turtle stage, their adaptability is still relatively poor, so attention should be paid to disease prevention. Usually, we should pay attention to changing water, keep the water clean and hygienic, regularly soak in potassium permanganate solution, or mix a little oxytetracycline powder or furazolidone in feed.
4. Safe overwintering: The tortoise will be dormant in winter, but if the temperature is suitable, the tortoise can also spend the winter normally. Usually for young turtles, because of the lack of storage in the body, the mortality rate during the winter period is relatively high, so they should be carefully raised, and then naturally overwinter.
