1. do ornamental shrimps eat fish feed

Ornamental shrimps eat fish feed. However, because this animal generally only moves at the bottom of the water, it can only eat the feed that sinks to the bottom, and it can not eat the feed that floats on the surface of the water and suspends in the water. In order to make shrimp grow better, they usually choose more professional shrimp food, or feed a little spinach, etc. If there are aquatic plants or algae in the tank, the shrimp will also feed on them.

2. How to feed the shrimps

1. Feeding times: Like fish farming, ornamental shrimps can be fed once a few days, or every day. If you use a grass tank, you can also not feed it at all and let it eat water plants by itself. Usually, shrimp are fed twice a day, less in the morning and more in the afternoon. However, the total amount of feed per day should not exceed 8% of the weight of shrimp.

2. Feed selection: There are many feeds for raising shrimps. In addition to artificial feed, spinach is mainly fed. However, it is better to use your own spinach, which may have pesticide residues outside, which is harmful to the health of shrimp. Before feeding, it needs to be soaked in salt water, washed several times, boiled in water, and then cooled before feeding.

3. Residual bait discharge: If you feed spinach to the ornamental shrimp, if you don't finish it that day, you need to fish it out the next day. Feeding artificial feed should also clean up the residual bait in time, otherwise it will cause the water body to become turbid, which is not conducive to the health of shrimp, generally when changing water, it can be discharged, or it can be sucked away by strengthening filtration.
