Goldfish suffer from saprolegniasis may be due to the poor water environment in which the fish live. At this time, water should be changed immediately and sterilized. Generally, iodine disinfectant, potassium permanganate and saline are used as disinfectants. It may also be due to excessive breeding density. When fish swim, they rub against each other to create wounds, and wound infection leads to disease. At this time, the sick fish should be isolated first. After disinfection with salt water and sodium bicarbonate, the sick fish were put into povidone iodine solution for treatment.
What reason is goldfish gets saprolegniasis, how to treat?

1. Poor living environment

1. Reason: The water area where the fish live has the problem of turbid water quality. If they stay in this environment for a long time, their immunity will be reduced. In addition, the environment is poor, suitable for mold breeding. Fish are easily infected by fungi and then suffer from saprolegniasis.

2. Treatment: Change the water immediately. Because the fish is infected by fungi, it also needs sterilization and disinfection. Commonly used disinfectants are iodine disinfectant, potassium permanganate, salt water and so on. The sick fish is put into the iodine disinfectant to be soaked for about 20 to 30 minutes every day. Or mixing a potassium permanganate solution with the concentration of 2mg/L with 1% of brine to soak the diseased fish.

2. breeding density is too large

1. Cause: The breeding density in the fish tank is too high. The fish's living space is too narrow, causing it to encounter other fish when it travels. After repeated friction, the surface tissue of the fish will be damaged. The mold in the water will adhere to the scratch, and over time, the fish will suffer from saprolegniasis.

2. The treatment method is as follows: firstly, the diseased fish is isolated, and the whole fish tank is sprinkled with 800mg/L of salt and sodium bicarbonate mixture to sterilize and disinfect. Then the diseased fish was put into 20 mg/L povidone iodine solution for treatment. When the situation is more serious, the fish can take antimicrobial drugs to assist treatment. Drugs can choose terramycin, sulfamethazine and so on. After recovery, the fish should be kept in a large fish tank. Or separate tank feeding, reduce the breeding density, prevent fungal infection from happening again.
