If there is moss on the turtle shell, just brush the moss off with a small brush. Although the moss itself is not harmful to turtles, the reason for the long moss is that the water quality is not good, in this case, water needs to be changed in time. In addition, in summer, because of the high temperature, the water quality decays quickly, so it is necessary to change water frequently. It can also be free-range, put a shallow basin on the balcony to let it climb in, do not put too much water inside, when dry, turtles will go to look for water, so it is not easy to moss up.
1. Water should be aired: tap water is generally used for changing water for turtles. However, the tap water just connected cannot be directly used because it contains chlorine. Therefore, it needs to be aired for one to two days to volatilize the chlorine in the water. This water will not irritate the turtle, nor will it affect its health.
2. Water change interval: In fact, the water change interval is not fixed. Some people like to change it once every few days, but it is not bad to change it too often. Usually, we should pay attention to the observation of the water body, if the water quality is relatively turbid, or the water has a peculiar smell, then change the water for it. In addition, if there is a filter, it will also extend the interval of water change.
3. Pay attention to the temperature difference: The temperature difference must be controlled when changing the water. The temperature difference between the old water and the new water should not exceed 3 ℃. These animals are sensitive to the temperature. Too large temperature difference is harmful to their health. In addition, the time to change water is mostly in the early morning or night, only in winter can it change water at noon.
