When breeding the Buddha crocodile turtle, you can try to let them breed. After the mother lays the eggs, it's time to hatch. If hatched naturally, it usually takes 60-80 days, and the success rate of hatching is relatively low. If artificial incubation, the time required will be shortened, and the success rate is relatively high. Therefore, if there are conditions, it is better to use artificial incubation, but this process is more troublesome.
For artificial incubation, first prepare a plastic box, put a foam board on the bottom, and drill some relatively small leakage holes on it. Then lay three layers of sand on the foam, using the coarsest sand at the bottom and fine sand at the top. Then place the eggs on top, taking care that the space between the eggs is not too small. When everything is ready, place the box in the incubator. Pay attention to the control of the surrounding environment, the air humidity is best controlled between 81%-85%. The water content of sand is controlled between 7% and 8%, if it is white, it shows that it is too dry, and some clean water needs to be sprayed. It is better to control the temperature around 30 degrees. Under suitable conditions, the incubation time will generally be between 42 and 48 days.
In the process of hatching, the temperature of the surrounding environment will have a certain impact on the male and female turtles. Therefore, the purpose of male turtles can be achieved by adjusting the temperature. Specifically, if the temperature is relatively high, then the speed of egg hatching will be accelerated, at this time the probability of hatching is the mother turtle. If you want male turtles, you need to let the incubation time be relatively long, that is, the surrounding temperature is slightly lower. But not too low, not less than 20 degrees.
